Experience

Dr. Sasa is an ENT Specialist with over 25 years of experience. He is double European Board-certified in Otolaryngology and in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He graduated from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, and completed his specialist training at the Zagreb University Hospital Centre. He subsequently undertook advanced surgical training and obtained a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, followed by periods of clinical practice and training at leading medical centers in the USA and Germany. As a Fulbright Fellow, Dr. Sasa conducted research in stem cells, tissue engineering, and nanomaterials at the National Institutes of Health, which led to the completion of both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Sasa has extensive experience in the comprehensive medical and surgical treatment of ENT and head and neck disorders. His main areas of expertise include sinus disease and nasal breathing disorders, allergies, pediatric ENT conditions, aesthetic rhinoplasty and otoplasty, snoring and sleep-related disorders, skin cancer surgery, ear infections, and neck and thyroid gland conditions, including thyroid nodules, enlarged lymph nodes, and cysts. He also has a special interest in occupational ENT conditions related to flying and diving; and sports-related ENT conditions as has served for many years as a consultant to professional athletes and national sports teams, including Olympic medalists and European champions.

Dr. Sasa has published more than 35 articles in international medical journals and has delivered over 150 presentations at national and international conferences. He has received several prestigious international awards for his research and contributions to clinical science. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for multiple leading medical journals and is an active member of several international professional societies, including the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and the European Rhinologic Society. Before relocating to Dubai in 2011, Dr. Sasa was a faculty member at a university hospital, where he taught ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery to medical students and residents.

Dr. Sasa is available for consultations in English and Croatian and also has a basic understanding of Russian, German, and Italian.
