Experience

Dr. Nikolas Valsamidis is a Consultant General Surgeon with over 25 years of international surgical experience across Greece, Sweden, Denmark, Cyprus, and the United Arab Emirates, including 18 years as a Consultant. He specialises in advanced laparoscopic, minimally invasive, robotic, gastrointestinal, and bariatric surgery.

His clinical expertise includes complex abdominal and gastrointestinal procedures, hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction, bariatric and metabolic surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic procedures, as well as emergency and trauma surgery. He has extensive experience in minimally invasive approaches, with a focus on achieving effective surgical outcomes while supporting patient safety and recovery.

Dr. Valsamidis has also developed particular expertise in the surgical management of obesity and metabolic disorders, having performed more than 2,500 advanced weight-loss and laparoscopic procedures throughout his career. His practice includes a broad range of bariatric procedures as well as complex and revisional surgery.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Valsamidis has contributed to medical education, clinical research, and the development of surgical protocols and guidelines. He currently serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Sharjah, reflecting his continued involvement in academic medicine and postgraduate education.
