Experience
Dr. Guinwa Khaddaj is a Gastroenterologist – Hepatologist – Endoscopist graduated from La Universidad del Zulia (LUZ) in Maracaibo (Venezuela) in 2013, with special training in GI motility disorders done at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida (USA), with more than 10 years of experience, performing hundreds of endoscopic cases annually. Licensed to work in Venezuela, UAE (Dubai Health Authority) and Lebanon, with work experience in private and public institutions, attending gastroenterological emergencies such as upper gastrointestinal bleeding and its therapies (variceal banding, esclerotherapy, thermal therapy with bipolar electrocoagulation or heater probe, hemoclips), foreign body removal, polypectomy, esophageal dilations, lower gastrointestinal bleeding, screening colonoscopy. She also has vast experience in functional GI disorders such as esophageal motility disorders, performing and interpreting High Resolution Esophageal Manometry, esophageal pH and impedance, and anorectal manometry.
Dr. Guinwa Khaddaj worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the “Hospital Universitario de Maracaibo” in Venezuela (Governmental – Academic Primary Hospital and Center of Referrals in Latin America), as well as a Consultant at “Clinica Falcon” (private practice) in Maracaibo until 2016.
In October 2016 she moved to Dubai where she worked as Specialist in Gastroenterology at Rashid Hospital in Dubai (UAE), until 2023, when she decided to join Healthbay Group.
She has been involved in many activities celebrated by the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) working as coordinator of the World Digestive Health Day in 2015, and organizer of the worldwide public health campaign celebrated by the WGO in 2013 and 2014 at the “Hospital Universitario de Maracaibo” (Venezuela).
