Dr. Poessel is a highly experienced consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine with a total of 28 years’ experience. He was trained and worked in Germany, the US (Washington Orthopaedic and Knee Clinic), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He also held several high profile positions in Abu Dhabi including Medical Head for Al Jazira Football Club.
Dr. Poessel is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), German Association of Orthopaedic and Traumatology (BVUO), German Society for Sports Medicine, Abu Dhabi Sports Council (Affiliate), European Federation National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFFORT). He also serves as the Head of the German Emirates Medical Council.
