Dr. Carlos Baptista is a highly experienced paediatrician and paediatric allergist from Portugal. He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Lisbon in 1993, a general paediatrics specialist title from the Portuguese Pediatrics College in 2002. He also has a postgraduate diploma in Allergy from the University of Southampton and other multiple certifications in Medicine and Pediatrics including Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Reanimation Program and Basic Life Support from the IHNTS in UAE.
Currently serving as a Pediatric Senior Specialist Medical Center at Healthbay Clinics, Dr. Carlos manages General Pediatrics Clinics and assists children in all acute and chronic conditions in Pediatrics, with proper diagnosis and wise guidance treatment plans. He also provides assistance in newborns, planning and follow up in toddler and children including advice of food introduction, vaccinations and other well-being advices.
In Pediatric Allergy, Dr. Carlos provides clinical assessments, workup organization, follow-up, and treatment planning for various allergic conditions in young children. This includes situations like food allergies, asthma, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and anaphylaxis. He has expertise in structured planning and follow-up of allergic patients, performance and interpretation of various tests such as skin prick testing, patch testing, oral food challenges, basic spirometry, and FeNO.
Prior to joining Healthbay, Dr. Carlos worked at reputable clinics and hospitals in UAE and Portugal, managing various activities such as Senior Pediatrician in the Inpatient Ward, Neonatology, and Pediatric Outpatient Clinic. He was also the Chief of the Pediatric Team on-call/rotation for the ER and Neonatology on-call. He also provided formal and informal teaching to students, medical colleagues, junior medical staff, and health allied professionals.
Dr. Carlos’s vast experience in pediatric care extends also to travel medicine in children, pre-participation physical evaluation for children before engaging to intensive level sports activity and well-being regular children check-ups.
