Dr. Bariq Al-Amiry is a Swedish Board Certified Radiologist with over 14 years of experience in his field. After graduating from the College of Medicine, the University of Baghdad, in 2000, he did two years internship in Baghdad teaching hospitals. In 2005, Dr. Bariq pursued his medical training at Lidköping Hospital in Sweden and received his Swedish medical license in 2007.
Dr. Bariq obtained his specialty certificate in general radiology from Karolinska University Hospital in 2012, the 7th best hospital globally in 2021. Dr. Bariq obtained his certification in interventional radiology in April 2017 from Karolinska University Hospital. During his interventional radiology, Dr. Bariq started his Ph.D. studies and received his Ph.D. degree from Umea University, Sweden, in 2018 in the musculoskeletal radiology field titled: Radiological Measurements in Total Hip Arthroplasty.
Dr. Bariq became head of the Trauma and Musculoskeletal Radiology Department in 2019 at Karolinska University Teaching Hospital while still practicing as a general radiologist.
Dr. Bariq is a member of multiple professional societies, including the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE), Swedish Society of Radiology, Swedish National Board and Welfare, Seldinger Swedish Society for Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Swedish Board Directors for Musculoskeletal Radiology. He is also a member of the General Medical Council in the UK. Dr. Bariq has been actively participating and a speaker in several national and international congresses.
Dr. Bariq is a lecturer for the medical students at Karolinska University Teaching Hospital and the Vice Chairman of the Swedish Board Directors for Musculoskeletal Radiology.
