We understand there are times when you need your nanny quickly! Perhaps your nanny is on holiday, or called in sick; maybe there is an important event you need to attend, or you just need to go to work. Who will look after your little ones? We know how stressful it can be, in cases of emergency, you need a temporary nanny!

Temporary Nannies provided by us hold childcare qualifications and have childcare experience.

Night nannies will gently guide your child to sleep through the night whilst you enjoy a good nights sleep.

Maternity Nurses care for newborn babies only, and will expect to work for you for only a few weeks or a month after the birth of your baby.

First Aid Training

Emergencies occur with little or no warning – being prepared can help save a life. The first aid courses are designed for parents and carers who would like to gain the knowledge and confidence to help in an emergency concerning children at home.

Emergency Life Support

An emergency life saver class, teaching you how to respond confidently when a baby or child is choking, not breathing or unresponsive.

• Child and infant CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)
• The unconscious child / recovery position
• Dealing with choking

Emergency First Aid

This course will give you the basic first aid skills to effectively manage the following:

• Wounds / Cuts / Bleeding control
• Limb Injury / Fractures
• Head Injuries
• Burns and Scalds
• Eye Injury
• Overdose / Poisoning
• Allergic reaction / Anaphylaxis
• Fever Management & Medical Emergencies, including discussion of Convulsions & Meningitis

Lactation Consultancy & Breastfeeding Support Clinic

Lactation Consultancy and Breastfeeding Support is offered to women who require specialist information and support with breastfeeding. Our Lactation Consultants and Breastfeeding Advisors are registered with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) and La Leche League International.

Your appointment will include:

• Weight check of baby.
• Correct positioning and attachment of your baby to the breast.
• Encouraging milk supply and storage of milk.
• Patterns of feeding will be discussed.
• Nutritional advice for mother.
• Support and encouragement.

The Well Baby Clinic at Health Bay Polyclinic is for babies from birth to 18 months of age and is facilitated by western trained midwives and nurses.

The services we provide are:

• Measurements of your baby/child.
• Administration of all scheduled vaccinations.
• Support and advice with breastfeeding / infant feeding.
• Support and advice with caring for your baby / child.
• Referral to Lactation Consultancy and Breastfeeding Support Clinic.
• Information in relation to support services in Dubai.
• Developmental checks.

The Well Baby Clinic is by appointment only. The initial visit is for one hour, in which a full history of your birth and baby’s medical history is taken, in addition to measurement and advice. Follow-up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes.

Our team of Western trained midwives are able to visit you in the comfort of your own home to provide postnatal care and support. Our Lactation Consultants and breastfeeding advisors can also provide specialist support for women requiring breastfeeding advice. We are pleased to announce the introduction of community based visits, following the birth of your baby.

A full postnatal care package for mother and baby is provided, including:

• Blood pressure, temperature, palpation of uterus, perineal and wound care advice.
• Emotional support.
• Breastfeeding and infant feeding advice and care.
• Your baby is weighed and checked physically.
• Cord care, temperature, urine/stool output and care of your newborn baby will be discussed and advice given.

The Antenatal Classes are offered as evening or weekend sessions over a four week period, designed to prepare you fully for pregnancy, labour, birth and parenthood. You will be required to attend one session per week. The antenatal class presentation is based on up to date, evidence based information.

• Caring for yourself during pregnancy
• Antenatal care
• Labour and birth
• Coping strategies for normal labour and birth
• Active birth
• Birth partners
• Pain management
• Challenges of labour
• Breastfeeding
• Infant feeding

The classes are offered as evening or weekend sessions. The antenatal classes are facilitated by our experienced Senior Midwives, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, United Kingdom.In addition we also offer specialist workshops. These 3 hour sessions provide specific information  on various topics such as:

• Antenatal refresher class
• Practical care of the newborn
• Breastfeeding

Midwifery Clinic

Health Bay Polyclinic is pleased to offer a unique midwifery antenatal service, in partnership with our obstetricians Dr. Liliana, Dr. Mukaddes Oksuz and Dr. Jozsa . Our midwives who provide care within the midwifery clinic offer antenatal care and support to women classified as ‘low risk’ during pregnancy.

The Midwifery Clinic includes:

• A full booking history and explanation of antenatal care.
• Comprehensive antenatal checks including blood pressure urinalysis, abdominal palpation and fetal heart auscultation.
• Blood testing as required.
• 30 minute appointments to allow for the many questions and concerns parents have during this exciting time.
• Education on key areas and explanations based on current research.
• A family-centered environment to involve all members in the care and planning of a new baby.
