The drive to set this up stemmed from our contact with individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and were at various stages of their treatment. We realized that although medical care was excellent, there was no emotional support for these individuals and their families in the present set up.

Support groups offer the chance for people to talk about their experiences with others living with cancer, which can help reduce stress. Group members can share feelings and experiences and can often create a sense of belonging that helps each person feel more understood and less alone. In addition, support group members may discuss practical information, such as what to expect during treatment, how to manage pain and other side effects of treatment, and how to communicate with health care providers and family members.

If you or a family member or friend would be interested in participating in our support group, please email us on, and we’ll provide you with all the details.
